Canepa Carrera GT SC: Why the World's Most Ambitious CGT Program Chose Repasi

Canepa Carrera GT SC #01 in Liquid Metal Green — mechanical enhancement by Repasi Motorwerks

In March 2026, a Porsche Carrera GT unlike any other made its debut at the Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance. Finished in a color Porsche never offered — Liquid Metal Green — with a bespoke cream leather interior, custom carbon fiber bodywork, and mechanical enhancements refined by over 18 years of dedicated Carrera GT expertise, the Canepa Carrera GT SC #01 represents the most ambitious Carrera GT enhancement program ever undertaken.

We are honored to serve as the exclusive mechanical and technical partner for this program.

Why Bruce Canepa Chose Repasi Motorwerks

When Bruce Canepa set out to create the Carrera GT SC, he didn't just want to refine a legend — he wanted to elevate it. For the mechanical foundation of that vision, he needed a team that not only matched his level of precision and quality but had more Carrera GT experience than any other facility in the world.

That team is Repasi Motorwerks.

Our credentials speak for themselves:

  • 18+ years of dedicated Carrera GT focus
  • More Carrera GTs serviced than any independent shop in America
  • 5 Porsche Gold Meister certified technicians
  • Over 100 years of combined Porsche experience across our team
  • Intimate knowledge of every mechanical system on the platform — from the 5.7-liter V10 to the notoriously demanding clutch assembly

This isn't a partnership born from marketing — it's one that was inevitable. When you're building the definitive Carrera GT program, there's only one shop with the depth of knowledge and hands-on experience to handle the mechanical work at this level.

The SC Build Process

Each Carrera GT SC begins its transformation at Canepa's facility in Scotts Valley, California, where the car undergoes a complete disassembly of the exterior and interior — every panel, every trim piece, every component removed so Bruce's team can work their design magic.

The bare chassis is then shipped to Repasi Motorwerks in Stratford, Connecticut, where our team takes over the mechanical transformation. This is where decades of Carrera GT experience translate into tangible improvements across every system.

Once the mechanical work is complete, the chassis returns to Canepa to be mated with its new carbon fiber bodywork, bespoke leather interior, concours-quality paintwork, and a host of other bespoke updates. The result is a Carrera GT that has been enhanced in every measurable way — without losing the character that makes the original so special.

Mechanical Enhancements by Repasi

As the technical partner behind the Carrera GT SC, every system was approached with intent. Our scope covers four critical areas:

Drivetrain Refinement

The Carrera GT's naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V10 — producing 605 horsepower at 8,000 rpm — remains the heart of the SC. Our role is refinement, not reinvention. We optimize the drivetrain for smoother power delivery, improved reliability, and the kind of mechanical precision that a car of this caliber demands. Every component is inspected, measured, and either renewed or upgraded to exacting standards.

Clutch Performance

The Carrera GT's ceramic composite clutch is one of the most discussed — and most misunderstood — components in the supercar world. Our team has replaced and serviced more CGT clutches than any other independent facility. For the SC program, we apply that experience to deliver improved clutch feel, enhanced durability, and a driving experience that inspires confidence rather than anxiety. Learn more about our approach in our clutch service page.

Suspension Calibration

SC #01 features a KW suspension setup with an integrated hydraulic front-axle lift system — a modern convenience that makes the car genuinely usable without compromising dynamics. Our team handles the calibration: corner balancing, damper tuning, and geometry setup to ensure the car rides and handles with the precision its engineering deserves. The suspension calibration reflects our experience from years of GT-level suspension work.

Braking Improvements

Stopping a 1,380 kg supercar from 200+ mph requires absolute confidence in the braking system. We enhance the braking package to deliver improved pedal feel, thermal management, and consistent stopping power across a range of driving conditions — from spirited back-road drives to concours arrivals.

SC #01: The First Build

The first Carrera GT SC debuted at the 2026 Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance — one of the most prestigious automotive events in the world. Here are the highlights:

  • Exterior: Liquid Metal Green — a color Porsche never offered on the Carrera GT — with gloss black headlight bezels, custom exposed carbon fiber roll hoop, and body-colored air intakes
  • Interior: Full bespoke cream leather and Alcantara throughout, retaining the iconic beechwood gear shifter with aluminum and carbon fiber accent pieces
  • Wheels: Original five-spoke magnesium design with anodized black center locks
  • Exhaust: New stainless steel exhaust system for enhanced sound character
  • Suspension: KW setup with integrated hydraulic front-axle lift

The response has been overwhelming. The Instagram announcement — a collaboration post between @canepacollectorcars and @repasimotorwerks — generated nearly 900 likes within hours. A second SC build is already underway.
