RM Sotheby's Miami 2025 - $1.545M Carrera GT

I'm proud to share that a Carrera GT I've serviced since 2020 recently sold at RM Sotheby's Miami auction for $1.545 million. What made this sale particularly meaningful was the lot description—RM Sotheby's, the world's most prestigious collector car auction house, described me as the "model expert" and "marque specialist" who performed the car's major service work.

When the world's top auction house explicitly credits your work in their lot description, it validates everything we've built at Repasi Motorwerks. That recognition doesn't come from marketing—it comes from years of demonstrated results.

Chassis 0994 came to us in 2020 and received regular servicing over the following years. But our relationship with this car went beyond routine maintenance.

I upgraded the car with a complete set of Öhlins TTX36 adjustable piggyback shock absorbers—a $16,000 investment that significantly improves handling over the CGT's original suspension design. The TTX36 system has become one of my most recommended upgrades for CGTs that will be driven. The original suspension performed well when new, but damper technology has advanced significantly. The TTX36 brings modern capability to the platform while maintaining the CGT's fundamental handling character.

In 2022, we performed major service work that went beyond mechanical items. Paint correction removed the accumulated imperfections that even garage-kept cars develop over time. Following the correction, we applied full PPF to all painted surfaces, then ceramic coated everything—a combination that preserves the car's appearance for years to come.

The result was a CGT prepared to the highest possible standard: mechanical excellence, dynamic improvements, and cosmetic preservation that commands confidence at auction.

Since 2020, it has benefited from regular servicing by model expert Jimmy Repasi of Repasi Motorwerks in Stratford, Connecticut. Repasi also upgraded 0994 with a complete set of Öhlins TTX36 adjustable piggyback shock absorbers ($16,000). The TTX36 system is a popular upgrade for Carrera GT owners as it performs noticeably better than the original suspension design. Major service work by marque specialist Jimmy Repasi in 2022 including Ohlins TTX36 adjustable shock absorbers and proper paint correction followed "Seamless" full PPF film on all painted surfaces and ceramic coating.

RM Sotheby's lot description included specific language that meant a great deal to me:

"Since 2020, it has benefited from regular servicing by model expert Jimmy Repasi of Repasi Motorwerks in Stratford, Connecticut."

"Major service work by marque specialist Jimmy Repasi in 2022 including Ohlins TTX36 adjustable shock absorbers and proper paint correction followed by seamless full PPF film on all painted surfaces and ceramic coating."

Auction houses at this level research every detail of the cars they sell. When they specifically mention a service provider by name—twice, using terms like "model expert" and "marque specialist"—they're communicating to sophisticated buyers that this car's maintenance exceeds typical standards.

For CGT owners considering future sales, this auction demonstrates something important: documented specialist service adds quantifiable value. The explicit mention of Repasi Motorwerks in RM Sotheby's lot description contributed to buyer confidence, which translated to strong bidding.

Proper maintenance isn't just about keeping the car running—it's about building the provenance that commands premium prices. The $1.545 million result validates that approach.

I'm grateful to have been part of this car's story, and I'm proud that the work we did at Repasi Motorwerks was recognized by the world's top auction house.

When RM Sotheby's prepared the lot description for this $1.545 million Carrera GT, they chose to highlight two things: the Öhlins suspension upgrade and my involvement. That editorial decision reflects how the collector car world views Repasi Motorwerks—as the standard against which CGT maintenance is measured. For this example, our service history wasn't just documentation; it was a selling point.
